Who In The Hell Is Mel Kiper
The incident involving Mel Kiper and Bill Tobin is one of the most famous moments in NFL draft history. It all began in 1994 when Kiper, a well-known NFL draft analyst, made some comments about Tobin, the then-general manager of the Indianapolis Colts. Kiper had criticized Tobin’s decision to draft linebacker Trev Alberts, saying that he would not have taken him in the first round.
Tobin, who was not a fan of Kiper’s commentary, was asked about Kiper’s comments during a live ESPN interview. When Kiper’s name was mentioned, Tobin famously responded, “Who in the hell is Mel Kiper? I mean, here’s a guy who criticizes everybody, whoever they take.” The moment quickly went viral and has since become a part of NFL draft lore.. Pay homage.
