Block Ohio State Baby One Piece
With the Morrill Act of 1862 providing 30,000 acres of land to each state for the establishment of universities, Ohio founded the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1870—what would become the university you know and love today.
It would take three years for classes to start at the college and another decade before the school diversified its interests and became a thriving urban center of thought with master’s and doctoral programs.
Now the university boasts more than 200 undergraduate majors and another 200 master’s and doctoral programs. And, oh yeah, an unrivaled athletic tradition, complete with 28 NCAA national team titles. Pay homage.
